Famous pilgrimage site Changu Nnarayan Temple

The Changunarayana temple is said to have been built by Lichhavi king Haridatta Burma in 323 BC. The Changunarayan Temple, which is also an ancient archeological monument, is located in Changunarayan Municipality of Bhaktapur District. It is important not only from historical, artistic and religious point of view but also as a major tourist destination. Changunarayan is also one of the seven World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu Valley. It was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1969.
