UEFA EURO 2020 Quarter-Final, Czech Republic vs Denmark: Denmark kept their fairytale alive as they progressed to the UEFA Euro 2020 semi-finals after beating Czech Republic 2-1 at the Olympic Stadium in Baku on Saturday.
Kasper Hjulmand‘s side progressed to the quarter-finals courtesy of an impressive 4-0 victory over Wales after qualifying for the knockouts on the final group matchday. Against the Czechs, Denmark took an early lead in the fifth minute when midfielder Thomas Delaney headed home from a corner. In-form striker Kasper Dolberg doubled the lead five minutes before the break with a cool finish off wing-back Joakim Maehle’s perfect cross. Jaroslav Silhavy’s team started the second half well, with joint top-scorer Patrik Schick pulling one back in the 49th minute. But the spirited Danes held their own right till the very end.
