Prime Minister Deuba meets his Indian counterpart Modi in Glasgow

Glasgow-  Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba held bilateral talks with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi here today.

The two leaders are presently here in Glasgow, Scotland to attend the two-day summit of world leaders under the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-26).

During the friendly meeting held here this morning, the two leaders discussed ways to deepen and strengthen the relations between the two countries, Foreign Secretary Bharatraj Poudyal told RSS.  On the occasion, Prime Minister Deuba called for the continuation of India's assistance in the areas of prevention and control of corona virus infection, post-earthquake reconstruction and physical infrastructure development.

He also urged for the continuation of India's assistance to Nepal in the supply of chemical fertilizers. In response, Indian Prime Minister Modi said that he would support Nepal considering it as need of his country.

Similarly, Prime Minister Deuba requested India to give approval for the entry point of aircraft from Nepalgunj and Mahendranagar on the south-western border. Secretary Poudyal shared that Indian Prime Minister Modi has stated that he has taken the need of Nepal in a positive way.

Prime Minister Deuba arrived in the United Kingdom on Friday night, leading a Nepali delegation to attend the conference. The COP-26, which started in Glasgow,Scotland on October 31, will continue till November 12. 

The Nepali delegation includes Minister for Forests and Environment Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, secretaries of various ministries, senior government officials and media personnel.
