Incessant rainfall causes loss of Rs 150 million

Manang- The incessant rainfall that occurred here has caused a loss of Rs 150 million at Narpabhumi Rural Municipality in the district. The crops in all five wards in the rural municipality was damaged by the rainfall that is taking place since June 14.

Rural municipality Chairperson Mingma Chhiring Lama informed that the loss in the crops was worth Rs 15o million. “All sorts of crops and vegetables are waterlogged. Some are subsistence farming while some commercial here. Both are destroyed. Even the plots are damaged by the torrential rainfall.”

The Nar village of Ward No 1 suffered worst. Potato and mustard seed are destroyed there. The crops in the commercial farming done with land-pooling wilted and decayed. “Koru is the major crop in mountainous Narpabhumi area. It is like barley. It is fully damaged,” Lama added.
