Govt to make public its opinion on Darchula incident: Minister Khand 

Kathmandu-  Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has said that the government would carry out an the investigation on the Darchula incident and make public its fact and reality. 

In the Darchula incident, Indian Seema Surakshya Bal reportedly cut off the rope of tuin (wired river crossing) when Jay Singh Dhami of Darchula was using it to cross the Mahakali river. Dhami has gone missing since falling into the river.

In today's meeting of the National Assembly, Home Minister Khand shared that a probe committee formed under coordination of Joint-Secretary of the Ministry, Janardan Gautam, has already headed towards the incident site to carryout onsite investigation of the case. The probe committee has been asked to submit its report within 10 days.

Saying that the Darchula incident was serious, sad and sensitive, he noted, "Other persons, who were along with Jay Singh, are being enquired and security personnel from India and Nepal have been carrying out search for Jay Singh." 

The Home Minister opined that the government would take the opinion, information and views expressed regarding Darchula incident seriously and would make public its opinion once the fact of the incident comes out. 

He also shared that suspension bridges are being constructed to replace four such tuins in the Mahakali river. Jay Singh had used the tuin in order to shorten his travel to Khalanga from Vyas rural municipality.  

Five police posts of the area have been mobilized to search for Jay Singh, who went missing in the Mahakali river after falling from the tuin.
