COVID vaccination halted after misbehave incident resumes

Kathmandu- COVID vaccination programme that was halted after misbehave to a health worker has resumed in Tokha municipality. 

The vaccination drive had been halted after Family Planning supervisor of Tokha municipality, Basanta Gaire, was thrashed at Dhapasi-based Grandee International Hospital at 6.15 am on July 31. The municipality sources said the vaccination service would resume from 10.00 am today. 

Tokha Mayor Prakash Adhikari said police booked a group, including Ramkaji Thapa who was involved in beating up the health worker. 

The unruly group members have already begged apology before the health worker and police personnel. 

He told RSS that the vaccination service would resume this morning after the mediation between the two sides. 

The municipality is providing vaccination service to the people aged over 50, school/university teachers, employees, public vehicle drivers and co-drivers. In order to provide the inoculation service, the municipality has designated Tokha Chandeswori Primary Health Post, Grandee International Hospital,  Dhapasi and Manohar Secondary School Samakhusi as vaccination centres.
