Action recommended against 14 UML MPs

Kathmandu- The CPN (UML) has recommended to the Federal Parliament Secretariat to dismiss 14 members of the House of Representatives including senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal. The recommendation has been made for not acting as per the party's policy and directives.

It may be noted that 22 UML lawmakers had given a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba against the party's policy. Following it, the UML had asked the lawmakers for clarification. According to UML Parliamentary Party Whip Shanta Chaudhary, 14 of them have been recommended for action as per Clause 28 of the Political Parties Act.

Among those recommended for action are Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Mukunda Neupane, Ram Kumari Jhankri, Kalyani Khadka, Laxmi Kumari Chaudhary, Niradevi Jairu, Pushpa Kumari Karna, Sarala Yadav, Kalila Khatun, Birodh Khatiwada, Krishnalal Maharjan, Bhavani Khapung and Metmani Chaudhary. A meeting of the UML parliamentary party and standing committee was held today for forging unity within the party.
