3,042 new cases recorded in past 24 hours

Kathmandu-  A total of 3,042 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new cases were confirmed through 10,530 PCR tests and 7,124 antigen tests conducted during the same period, the Ministry unveiled in its routine virtual press meet on Friday. 
With this, the COVID-19 caseload has reached 744,307.

Similarly, 2,244 COVID-19 patients have enjoyed full recovery in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 693,543 till date. The recovery rate stands at 93.1 per cent while the case fatality rate is 1.5 per cent, informed the Ministry.

Currently, there are altogether 40,309 COVID-19 cases in the country. Among them, 714 were receiving treatment at ICU facility while 171 were in ventilator support. 

Meanwhile, 26 people lost their lives to the deadly infection in a day which puts the fatality caseload at 10,455 as of now.

Likewise, Kathmandu Valley reported 894 new cases of flu-like infection in the past 24 hours. Among them, there were 604 cases in Kathmandu, 187 in Lalitpur and 107 in Bhaktapur. 

Meanwhile, a total of 180,028 were vaccinated against Coronavirus infection in a day while the number of fully vaccinated ones stands at 3,799,178.
