Laprak’s model houses to be handed over in April

The model houses built by the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) in Laprak in Gorkha district will be handed over to the beneficiaries on April 25 this year. The NRNA had helped build the houses for those whose houses were rendered inhabitable by the Gorkha Earthquake on April 25, 2015. The handover day coincides with the day when the 7.6 magnitude quake had jolted the country, with its epicenter in Gorkha itself. NRNA President Kumar Pant, during an onsite visit to Laprak today, reaffirmed his commitment to handover on the stipulated day. Pant shared that they were lobbying with the National Reconstruction Authority to provide land ownership certificate to the beneficiaries and to construct more basic infrastructures in the locality. He also extended gratitude to the Authority, Ministry of Urban Development, NRNA, Care Nepal, Nepali Army and local units for their close coordination and steadfast support in building the model houses for the quake survivors in Laprak. Laprak is one of the hardest hit places as it is nearby Barpark, the epicenter of Gorkha Earthquake. Similarly, Authority’s secretary Maniram Gelal shared that each beneficiary will be provided Rs 400,000 as grant assistance for construction of basic infrastructures. Likewise, one of the beneficiaries, Raj Gurung pledged to complete the construction process of the model houses within the deadline i.e. within a month from now.
