Madhav Nepal sets precondition for unity with Oli

Kathmandu- Senior leader of CPN (UML) Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that leaders close to him were always ready for intra-party unity and the efforts would continue even in the context of formation of a new political party.

Addressing the UML's sister organisations' leaders close to him through virtual means today, former PM Nepal said that party unity was possible with KP Sharma Oli if he withdrew his 'wrong and unilateral' decisions. "Otherwise, the communist flag would be hoisted by the formation of a new political party," leader Nepal announced.

Election alliance or cooperation and unity in the post-election period were likely with Oli if he was ready to correct the political course, leader Nepal added. He also asked the party leaders and cadres to remain active by renewing their UML party membership and continue parallel political activities.

On the occasion, he said that there has no progress in regard to party unity with Oli despite discussions on many options adding that he has sent party Assistant General Secretary Ghana Shyam Bhusal to discuss with Chairman Oli on proposal of party unity.

Likewise, he criticised Oli for writing to the Federal Parliament Secretariat to notify the Secretariat to relieve 14 UML lawmakers of their post.
