COVID-19: Country records 2,444 cases; 42 new deaths

Kathmandu- The country has reported a total of 2,444 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. Of the new cases, 1509 were confirmed through the RT-PCR tests and 935 through the antigen tests. 

Of them, 355 new cases were reported in Kathmandu district, 112 in Lalitpur and 47 in Bhaktapur.

Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Chitwan, Kaski and Nawalparasi East recorded higher number of COVID-19 cases compared to other districts in the past 24 hours.  

With the recent update, the COVID-19 tally reached 635,188 in the country till June 28. 
Similarly, the Ministry confirmed that 3,853 infected patients have recovered today. With this, a total of 58 8,187 individuals recovered from the virus. So far, 92.6 per cent COVID-19 patients recovered while the death rate is 1.42 per cent. 

Of the active cases, 657 patients are in ICU and 193 others are receiving treatment in ventilators. 

The Ministry said that 42 COVID-19 patients died in the past 24 hours. The Ministry confirmed that total deaths caused by COVID-19 infection reached 9,051 till June 28.
