Kathmandu- Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Agni Sapkota has stressed on continued efforts to implement the Constitution as it was an achievement of long struggle.
While receiving a memorandum submitted by Inter-party women Alliance here in Federal Parliament Building today, Speaker opined that the positive and constructive pressure was needed in different times. He reminded that the Constitution had some special features which reinstated dissolved parliament for two times.
He also said an all-party meeting could be held after holding consultation with the Prime Minister regarding to table the bills in the parliament. Speaker Sapkota gave assurances to try address genuine issues raised by the Alliance.
The Alliance chair Kalyani Rijal urged speaker to initiate to include women while expanding the Cabinet and appointing different state organs and bodies.
The memorandum has asked to address gender-based violence and ensure equal representation in all sectors.
